Stockman's Course - Animal Husbandry /
Veewagters Kursus - Beesversorging
The purpose of this course is to close the gap between practical knowledge and theoretical background. The literature available assists in providing the platform for the farmer (Stockman) to work in conjunction with their Veterinarian, appreciating the benefits that an efficient veterinary service can provide to improve animal health, animal welfare and productivity.
This course gives both the Farmer and Stockman the opportunity to carry out a wide range of clinical tasks, many of which were once considered to be province of the Veterinarian. However, to achieve this, one has to gain the knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of the subject.
This subject deals particularly with husbandry measures that can be applied as a means of controlling and treating diseases and the prevention thereof.
In addition the correct handling and management of cattle is covered where inefficiencies lead to poor productivity.
Lectures will be given in English & Afrikaans.
Tea, Coffee & Biscuits will be provided during Coffee Breaks for all courses taking place at the venue in Windhoek - Namibia and Irene - Pretoria.
