Pregnancy Awareness Course for Cattle /
Dragtigheid Bewusthheid
Herd owners doing their own Artificial Insemination (AI) frequently put their hand to pregnancy determination. This more often than not initiates a sequence of events that cause more problems for the farmer. Incorrect assessments and abortions are the consequences of unskilled palpation of the female genital organs.
The aim of the Pregnancy Awareness Course with cattle is to focus on theoretical and practical aspects that allow the herd owner / student, to apply him or herself with the necessary practice to support AI and Estrus Observation by the likelihood that cattle have conceived.
This enables the stock owner to improve productivity by managing cattle that are not falling within certain parameters by calling on the consultation of Veterinary Services by qualified and accredited practitioners, to assist the farmer in implementing corrective measures.
It should be noted that side problems and functional problems can only be determined by skilled Veterinarian.
Furthermore, as is discussed during the course, the training does not serve to override or undermine Veterinarian practitioners but rather call on the services of skilled and qualified practitioners in the field.
The Pregnancy Awareness Course is only made available for farmers / students that have already obtained an AI certificate from a registered AI technician that is as such registered by the Registrar as prescribed by the Livestock Improvement Act of South Africa and Namibia.
It should be noted that under no circumstances can any trainee attending the Pregnancy Awareness Course perform services in the field by performing Pregnancy Diagnosis for remuneration or advertise performing such services.
